Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner /reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert .
Fabric Description: Lightweight fabric is a traditional cotton fabric originally intended for use in making a yukata (summer cotton kimono) or coat; fabric is only slightly translucent with the background color of black (has a hint of indigo color) with pinstripes evenly spaced; the interior of the pinstripes are in rugged patterns within that are mostly brown but with tiny specs of white (only visible upon very close inspection in brighter light -- please see close-ups);
Fabric Type: Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our ).
