Overview
Craig & Rose Artisan Chalk Wash paints are ideal to bring raw depth and texture to your space. Excellent on feature walls, this Artisan translucent effect is great at creating a warm atmosphere and comes in 4 colours. From marble to fresh plaster look, it will add character in a unique way as it is up to you to apply it using large or small brush strokes, on a light or dark base coat, resulting in a very personal piece of art.

It is recommended to apply Chalk Wash over a base coat of . Pair with a similar shade for a more understated look, a complimentary neutral for a more vivid texture or a contrasting colour for a bold statement.

Clean Up | Remove as much paint as possible from equipment before cleaning with water. Clean hands with warm soapy water. |
Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from oil, dirt and grease or flaking coatings.
- Remove loose or flaking paint, fill cracks or holes with filler and sand smooth.
- Abrade any silk, satin or glossy surfaces before painting over.
- Treat any mould with scouring pad and bleach solution (1 part to 3 with water), leave on surface for 15 minutes then wash with clean water and dry.
- New dry plaster, or porous surfaces should be primed with a coat of or other suitable primers.
- Always apply a contrasting colour of matt emulsion before the Chalk Wash, it is recommended to use
- Ensure the emulsion basecoat has dried for at least 4 hours before applying Chalk Wash.

As with all of the Artisan paint effects, it is suggested that you practice the application process on a separate board/s where possible to allow you to discover your preferred result, trying a few different application tools to see what suits your scheme best.
- Stir thoroughly prior to use.
- Apply in blocks of around 1m square then create the pattern required by using different types of brush at different angles or use a rag rolling or bagging technique.
- Blend in carefully further blocks taking care at overlaps to cover the whole wall
- If two people are available then one can apply the wash and the other come behind and create the pattern.
Note: Do not apply a second coat as this may hide the translucent effect.

Aftercare & Storage
Store in a frost-free place and do not allow the paint to freeze.
